Yes, you need to uninstall QuickTime from Add/Remove Programs. I will confirm my steps, since apple seems to change every time I seq Virtualize the Apple Application Support first Virtualize the Apple Software update, I say no but I think And most of the times I uninstalled and reinstalled the software (as I described in the initial post) I reinstalled just the standalone Quicktime, and not iTunes, to keep it simpler. It's not Error#0 as above but I previously got the 0 and another number as well, but still the same symptom. It might only work if QT is in the classpath, but I would have thought that would have prevented it working for all versions of IE. Only Application support and QuickTime. Unistall the Quicktime plugin for Firefox. Does that solve my issue. But one test user machine on which windows media player is not validated and has quick time older version.

I tested it and after it failed to initialize I created a blank folder for "%commonprogramfiles%\Apple\Apple Application Support and then it worked.
I'd like to solve it eventually, but I just can't devote more resources to this at this moment; I don't have much time to either go to the person's to test any better luck then?If you do find it, what's the containing folder? I tried once again uninstalling both of them, erasing all the files including pluginreg.dat and I still get exactly the same thing.
If youhave a recipe that does not involve creating the local "Apple Application Support"-folder, I'd still be happy to know. Did you, or anyone else find a solution?
